Properties: Sebacic acid is directly produced by castor/ricinus oil, the content is more than 99.5%, belongs to aliphatic diacids, slightly soluble in water (1g sebacic acid soluble in 700ml of water or 60ml boiling water), insoluble in benzene, petroleum ether, carbon tetrachloride, soluble in ethanol and ether.

Main Application:
It is mainly used to prepare sebacic acid esters, and its esters are widely used, such as dibutyl sebacate, dioctyl sebacate, diisooctyl sebacate. These esters can be used as plasticizers for plastics and cold-resistant rubber.
It can be used to produce polyamide, polyurethane and alkyd resin.
Used as raw materials for the production of nylon 1010, nylon 910, nylon 810, nylon 610, nylon 9 and high temperature resistant lubricating oil diethylhexyl ester.
Used in the synthesis of lubricating oil, coolant liquid, lubricating oil additives.
Used in the production of spices, coatings, cosmetics, etc.
It is a raw material for the production of alkyd resin (used as surface coating, plasticized nitrocellulose coating and urea resin varnish) and polyurethane rubber, cellulose resin, vinyl resin and synthetic rubber plasticizer, softener and solvent.
Detailed Applications:
Polyamide resin application.
In polyamide resin production, sebacic acid provides better flexibility, ductility, hydrophobicity, and lower melting temperature. For the synthesis of polyamides, polyesters, copolyesters, alkyds, polyols, polyurethanes and other types of materials. These materials are mostly used in automobile temperature-resistant parts, toothbrushes, carpet clothing, and electronic products, which can reduce water absorption, improve flexibility, and have good impact resistance.
Sebacic acid is just one of main raw material of nylon 1010, nylon 910, nylon 810, nylon 610, nylon 9 etc.
Cutting fluid, corrosion inhibitor application.
It plays the role of anti-corrosion and anti-rust in the cutting fluid, effectively reducing the friction in the cutting process, reducing the tool wear and improving the cutting efficiency.
Automotive high-end coolant, as a corrosion inhibitor, can be used as engine coolant, directly added, with good buffer performance, can also be diluted, used for household and commercial vehicles, 4S shop high-end coolant.
Sebacic acid is also a raw material for the production of sebacic acid diesters (DOS/DBS).
Like dibutyl sebacate, dimethyl sebacate and dioctyl sebacate for compounding greases or lubricants with freezing points as low as -60°C.
The application of degradable products and their cosmetics.
Increase the product life of environmentally friendly plastic bags, increase the ductility and biodegradability. Used in skin care and color cosmetics, it has good film-forming properties and component compatibility, and natural sources can come into contact with food.
