Sodium formate is one of the simplest organic carboxylic acid salts and is a white crystal or powder with a slight odour of formic acid. It is slightly deliquescent and hygroscopic. Freely soluble in about 1.3 parts water and glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol and octanol, insoluble in ether. Sodium formate is harmless to humans, irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.

Application:
In the petroleum industry, sodium formate drilling fluid can achieve high density and low viscosity of mud, increase drilling speed, protect oil (gas) reservoirs, prevent collapse and extend the service life of drill bits and wells. It is an advanced and environmentally friendly material in the field of oil (gas) extraction technology.
In the leather industry, sodium formate is used as a camouflage acid in the leather industry to make leather soft and delicate.
In the snowmelt industry, sodium formate solid snowmelt uses sodium formate as the main raw material with added corrosion inhibitors, reducing the impact on concrete, metal and greenery to a very low level.
In the construction industry, sodium formate can be used as a compound multi-functional water reducing agent of sodium formate type, which can significantly accelerate the hardening process of concrete and improve the compactness, frost resistance and corrosion resistance of concrete.
In the chemical industry, sodium formate can be used to produce other chemical products such as formic acid, oxalic acid and insurance powder.
