Methyl ethyl carbonate (EMC) is an organic compound with the molecular formula C4H8O3. It is a colorless transparent liquid, insoluble in water, and can be used in organic synthesis. It is an excellent solvent for lithium-ion battery electrolyte. Ethyl carbonate should be stored in a cool, ventilated, dry place and stored and transported in accordance with flammable chemicals regulations.
