Melting point -85.9℃ Boiling point 79.6℃; relative density 0.8054; refractive index 1.3788; flash point -6℃; soluble in water, ethanol and ether, miscible with oil. The solubility decreases when the temperature increases, and it can form an azeotrope with water. Flammable, vapor can form explosive mixture with air. High-concentration vapors are anesthetic.
Application
Solvent
Used as a solvent, denaturant, catalyst, and also used in the preparation of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, textiles, plastics, paints, etc. It can also be used for melting and bonding of acrylic, PVC and other ethyl materials (commonly used in printing factories, using a strong adhesive with methyl ethyl ketone can dissolve the PVC coating on the outer layer of the canvas, which is convenient for bonding).
